Firsttake our 7 hour live seminar in Knoxville, TN on April 27, 2024.

This course will cover the functional mobility of the shoulder and knee. Beginning with rotator cuff dysfunction and functional shoulder rehabilitation, instructor Terry Trundle will discuss mobility and exercise science, primary impingement syndrome, post-operative rehabilitation of the rotator cuff, secondary impingement including instability, and post-arthroplasty rehabilitation of the shoulder. The second half of the seminar will address evidence-based knee rehabilitation. The topics to be addressed will include functionality of the closed-kinetic challenge of the knee, treating patella-femoral pain with a simplified approach, post-operative guidelines for patella realignment, post-arthroplasty rehabilitation of the knee, and proprioceptive tri-plane stabilization. The course will be taught live with short video demonstration and a hands-on lab.

Plyometrics and Functional Outcomes in Lower Quarter Rehabilitation with Dr. Bill Johnson (2 hours)

Plyometrics are high-risk, high-reward activities. If done correctly, relative to quality, technique, intensity, frequency, volume and recovery the individuals athletic potential, muscle mass and muscle reaction greatly improve. This enhances the patient’s ability to return to sport and play at the highest level possible, that is less stressful on the individual/surgical repaired tissue with a reduction in the risk of re-injury or new injury. This  2 hour course discusses and gives rationale for the when, why and how to introduce plyometric training into the rehab process in a safe, systematic, and progressive fashion. Also, included in this course is the utilization of functional outcome measures (Hop Tests, Y-Balance and agility testing) to assist with clinical reasoning and decision making on exercise prescription changes, return to sport, return to play and discharge planning.

Medial Collateral Ligament Injuries with Dr. Rob Manske (2 hours)

This course will include topics related to contemporary rehabilitation treatment of medial collateral ligaments of the knee. Medial collateral ligaments injuries of the knee are the second most common ligament injury seen in the knee. This course includes up to date evidence-based references to support educational content. Following this course, the participants should be able to utilize information immediately to improve patient outcomes with these forms of knee injuries.

Frozen Shoulder and Adhesive Capsulitis with Dr. Mark Albert (2 hours)

Shoulder dysfunctions causing painful stiffness are endemic issues, causing clinical challenges and conflicting treatment guidelines. Common terminology of frozen shoulder and adhesive capsulitis share significant and long duration impairments. This course reviews pathophysiology of these conditions, the natural history associated with idiopathic frozen shoulder and essential assessment findings.

Current Treatment of Lower Back Pain with Jos Dorrestein, PT, MHS (3 hours)

This course is designed to provide therapists with information and skills to provide the most effective treatment for the lower back patient in order to obtain the best possible outcomes, allowing a patient to return to their highest level of function, including ADL, work or athletic performance.
